Replace ASUS N56XX BIOS

Hi, If you have ever experienced with your Asus N56xx a black screen at start-up , even no logo, or access to the BIOS. It means you BIOS is bricked, yeah exactly, sounds like ASUS did it in purpose after a random number of boot. No worries, the solution is below, with the BIOS file, but you will need some things and skills.

Required components

• 24CXX 24LCXX Programmer EEPROM

• EEPROM Clip

• ASUS N56VZ BIOS Yes this is the only online version that I could find in 2016, as I’m using the N56VB, I lost the backlit keyboard but everything else is working fine. Download

• EEPROM Programmer Software (That runs only on Windows XP, you can also use a VM)

Prepare

• Place your Windows XP computer close to the motherboard ( I would advise a USB extender cable)

• Connect the clip to the EEPROM of your motherboard

  

Fix it

• Backup your bricked BIOS
• Install the new BIOS
• Remount half or your PC, just to test first.
• Enjoy your new working computer.
